Asbestos was everywhere. It was primarily used as a fire retardant. Asbestos was in commercial buildings and private homes.  Asbestos exposure unfortunately can lead to a diagnosis of terminal cancer or debilitating lung disease such as Mesothelioma. Victims worked directly or indirectly with asbestos and now are diagnosed with deadly consequences. We bring claims on the behalf of Victims of Asbestosis, Lung Disease and Mesothelioma among other Cancers.

The lawyers in the firm of Schmidt-Salita Law Team have a long history of fighting for the rights of victims of Asbestos disease, Mesothelioma and other occupational diseases including Cancer throughout the  Twin Cities, entire State of Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin. We also associate with Law Firms across the country.  Law Firms from around the nation also associate with Schmidt-Salita Law Team as local counsel. We fight for victims through Workers’ Compensation claims and third-party lawsuits and help them through the process.

Workplace Asbestos Exposure

Asbestos was once widely used in hundreds of products and industrial materials as an insulator and flame retardant.  Asbestos was discontinued and banned because of the health hazards. The effects are still lingering in people who get sick. The symptoms of Mesothelioma, Asbestos-related lung cancer and Asbestosis may not occur until 10, 20, 30 or even 40 years after exposure. This is called a latency period. Asbestos is still in older wiring, pipes, ceiling tiles, building materials and vehicles, and when the fibers are airborne it still is ingested and can cause serious problems.
